Excerpt from The History of Space Flight, Exploration and Colonization, Volume X , 40th edition. Published by the Society for the Preservation of Space History, New Boston, Mars, 642 M.E.
As with the Long Range Cruiser (LRC) class of asteroid ships, the Short Range Cruisers (SRCs) were made by hollowing out stony asteroids and fitting them with engines and other equipment.
The SRC Riemann’s original mission was to make short cargo runs between the Sol System inner planets. Later missions included passenger transport between Mars and the Titan Colonies, and patrolling the Mars-Jupiter Gap during the First Asteroid War. As of this writing, it is still in service.
